The Ricky Gervais Show is that unsung hit that HBO certainly loves. I myself am a big fan of the podcast turned animated series, and it’s one of the most hilarious shows the pay-cable network has to offer at times. While the network is overcrowded with dramatic programs, comedy seems to be making a return this April. Now, HBO has announced that the fate of The Ricky Gervais Show is a solid one, as the third season of the series will join the comedy-filled premiere month.
The Ricky Gervais Show will premiere on Friday, April 20th at a yet to be determined time. Though it’s renewal was quite quiet, the network seemed to officially announce the new season through a promo released today:
A hit with international audiences, the series adds layers to the old Ricky Gervais Show, which ran for years through radio, podcast, and audiobooks by adding animated visuals to the tale any of the men begin to discuss, including the wild and random thoughts of the show’s lovable idiot Karl Pilkington.
26 episodes have aired across two seasons of the series, and rumors of a fourth year are currently running rampant. It’s said that the fourth season could include some newly recorded audio for a change, but obviously we’ll have to see how well the series’ third season does this Spring before the network makes any final calls.
What do you think of the confirmation for The Ricky Gervais Show?
