FOX Renews ‘Bones’ For Eighth Season

Booth and Brennan aren't out the door just yet.

Though we’re roughly one week away from the very important episode of FOX’s Bones, which will feature the titular genius giving birth to she and Booth’s baby, the series future is still uncertain. With House going off the air later this year, FOX has assured that veteran series aren’t always safe from the swift sting of ending their runs. Now, after nearly three months off the air, it seems the crime dramedy isn’t going anywhere soon as the network has announced that Booth and Brennan will be kicking up crime once again.

FOX has renewed Bones for an eighth year, which comes after a shortened and rocky seventh season due to star Emily Deschanel’s own pregnancy and maternal leave.

Previous information had suggested that three or four new episodes would air during the summer as a bridge to the eighth season in order to give Bones fans their fix after a shorter year. However, it’s unclear whether or not those plans have been abandoned, though it seems very likely that they have. The idea was mentioned early on when the long hiatus due to pregnancy was revealed, but it wasn’t followed up in any capacity.

Bones returns on a new night Mondays at 9PM on FOX.
