It wasn’t too long ago when we discovered that Freddie Prinze Jr. would be joining the voice cast of Mass Effect 3, one of the most anticipated games of the year, as James Vega. The sci-fi series has definitely been one filled with raw talent, and Bioware has revealed that most of that talent will indeed be returning for the third game, along with some extremely interesting character developments, and a tease that Martin Sheen’s role as The Illusive Man isn’t quite over just yet.
Here is the full video detailing the new and returning roles:
Natasha Henstridge, Seth Green, Martin Sheen, Keith David, and other actor’s returns were always very much expected, but it’s still very nice to see their characters reappearing. Furthermore, one of the most noticable things about the video is the display of the character models themselves. In the past, the models have looked a bit dead in the eyes, and lacking a really good facial expression. Here, we get to see the new graphic for the upcoming game, and it looks absolutely extraordinary.
James Vega definitely seems like the type that could turn on the crew in the scheme of the story, as the way his character is introduced definitely makes it seem as if there’s much more beneath the surface. Jessica Chobot’s role is basically a spot on representation of the actress, and it was great to see that as well.
Granted, the video is long, but it would have been nice to see other characters confirmed. One of the bigger notable absenses is Yvonne Strahovski, but she’s expected to return as well, along with Raphael Sbarge as Kaiden.
The biggest bit came from Martin Sheen where he says that his role of The Illusive Man isn’t done yet. What exactly does that mean? We know that this is the final adventure for Commander Shepard, but that hasn’t ruled out the supporting cast at all. We could easily take perspective under Cerberus and begin a new trilogy there.
Mass Effect 3 hits store shelves for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on March 6th.
