Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson to Reunite for ‘Interns’

It’s been seven long years since Wedding Crashers hit theaters, and back then, the comedy has people praising Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn’s chemistry together. But alas, the duo haven’t worked together on-screen since, failing to recapture that same magic so many years after their comedic clash together. Now, however, it appears the two are willing and able to reunite for a new comedy called Interns, which will seek to make light of a very realistic situation.

NY Mag’s Vulture reported on the initial pick-up, saying due to budget problems for Vaughn and director Shawn Levy (Real Steel) in future projects, the two have decided to approachInterns, with Owen Wilson joining them.

The synopsis is said to be “Vaughn and Wilson [playing] forty-ish company guys who both get laid off in a downsizing. Convinced they’ve gone about managing their careers entirely wrong, they resolve to become interns at a Google-like dotcom and start anew. Suddenly, the two old chums are competing against wily, fresh-faced 22 year olds for advancement.”

Levy recently produced Vaughn’s next flick Neighborhood Watch, which will also star Levy’s past star Ben Stiller, who he directed in both Night at the Museum films. Currently, the film has no studio, but with the trio now involved within the project, Vulture says that the movie is headed for 20th Century Fox.

Production on the film would most likely begin later this year, for a release either early next year, or possibly a Summer 2013 stroll into theaters.
