With football, laughs, and Thad Castle returning, a fourth year for the show Blue Mountain State certainly remained very questionable. However now, Spike TV has announced the comedy won’t be coming back for a fourth outing, and has effectively been cancelled.
Zap2It reported on the axe, saying Lionsgate (the show’s producer) tried to sell the series somewhere else, but instead informed the cast and crew that BMS would not be returning.
The series began in early 2010, going on to air three 13-episode seasons, which can all be seen in their entirety on Netflix today. With at least one significant cast change every year, and the crude yet still funny humor that made up the program, the show found a significant following, and provided outstanding ratings for Spike.
The cast consisted of Darin Brooks, Alan Ritchson, Chris “Romanski” Romano (also co-creator), Denise Richards, and many more. Where exactly each cast member will go next is certainly unknown. All of the actors have been released from their contracts of the series upon cancellation as well.
We’ll miss the drunk tank, the Thad one-liners, Sammy’s “shaving incident”, and much more.
