Shiloh Fernandez Now Joins ‘Evil Dead’ As Only Confirmed Cast Member

The new Ash?

It was just last week that actress Lily Collins had decided to call it quits on the female lead of the upcoming horror remakeEvil Dead due to scheduling conflicts. Until that point, Collins was the only confirmed cast member to join the film, and her loss was seen as a big step backwards. Now, casting seeks to fix that situations as they have found who will help lead what’s sure to be a large amount fo casting news, as the movie finds its new male face.

Variety reports that Shiloh Fernandez, from Red Riding Hood, has signed on to the film as the new male lead of the potential series. If Collins had stayed on, she would have played the drugged out sister to Fernandez’ character.

In the film directed by Fede Alvarez, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Alvarez co-wrote the script with Rodo Sayagues, with Diablo Cody doing rewrites. The remake is currently set for a release on April 12th, 2013.
