One of the biggest Once Upon a Time stories is currently unfolding before our eyes, as we learn what really made Regina so damn evil. The first step is already done, thanks to Barbera Hershey making a big appearance as Regina’s mother, with a recurring arc in the second season as well. But, we still don’t know who will portray Regina’s love interest, or the Young Snow White we’ve seen in the initial casting call. Now, ABC has seemingly set those fears to rest, as they’ve cast two known actors in the respective roles, along with a very popular frontman in an all-new role that fairy tale lovers will definitely know.
Before all the Regina story goodies, EW reveals that the season’s seventeenth episode of the season, titled “Hat Trick”, will feature a famous rock crooner’s voice. Roger Daltrey, who is the lead singer for The Who, will voice the famous caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. The episode in general will be Alice-themed, and it’s uncertain if CGI will be used to bring the character to life, but it’s very much expected. The episode is expected to air in late March.
This means we can expect the monumental eighteenth episode possibly in early April. But, who will comprise the characters of Regina’s past? For starters, the titular stable boy will be played by Nikita actor Noah Bean. He’s described as “a handsome stable boy in Fairytale Land who tends to horses at the royal manor. He’s a young romantic who believes that love can make anything possible, even breaking through the barriers of his social station.”
Joining Bean in the episode will be Bailee Madison as Young Snow White, Variety’s Jeff Sneider reports. Madison had a big year last year on the big screen, as she appeared in a supporting role to Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in Just Go With It, while getting the main stage in Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. And, if I do say so myself, the young actress is the spitting image of Ginnifer Goodwin, so it’s definitely a bit of brilliant casting on part from the production team.
Once Upon a Time returns this Sunday, after a one week hiatus, at 8PM on ABC with the Beauty and the Beast themed episode that will have guest star Emilie De Ravin as Belle.
