Darksiders, released two years ago, was actually a surprise hit among audiences and critics, forming a great following, and plenty of gamers getting copies of the game. As expected, a sequel eventually formed, but has been pushed from early this year to a unknown time later in 2012. Now, THQ has finally announced that the game will be headed to stores as summer is heating up, meaning you can embrace the fiery power of the Four Horseman in the same element.
Darksiders II will hit store shelves on June 26th in the U.S. and June 29th in Europe, the publisher announced today. Featuring a parallel story to the first game, players will take the role of another Horseman this time around: Death.
Along with the release date, THQ revealed the pre-order incentives from various retailers you can acquire. Gamestop pre-orders get you the DLC “Death Rides”, which contains a bunch of side quests, while Best Buy will give you the “Angel of Death” DLC, which is full of enhanced armor, scythes, and a purple trail for your crow companions. The final DLC pack is the “Deadly Despair” Amazon pre-order, that simply gives Death’s horse an extra speed boost in the game.
Darksiders II will hit for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
