Are Jonah Hill and Kristen Bell Part of the New Team in ‘Ghostbusters 3′?

Ghostbusters 3 has always been that film that seems incredibly unlikely, and more like it’s going to be staying in development hell forever. Bill Murray has reportedly had problems with the script, even to go as far as the rumor saying Murray tore up the script and sent it back to his former team of supernatural hunters with nothing more than a note on the shreds. Now, an interesting duo of tweets along the same timeline has definitely added a bunch of fuel to the fire in terms of casting.

Both Jonah Hill and Kristen Bell posted pictures of themselves with the famous Ecto-1 car from Ghostbusters. Though it seems a bit vague, their mysterious tweets accompanying them could go either way. Hill simply tweeted “Who ya gonna call?” (with the picture above), while Bell said “Guys, pleeease do not be intimidated that i changed my background to a pic of me driving the Ecto-1. It’s not a big thang. (read: It’s a BIG thang)”.

Now, this is all purely speculation and rumors, but it’s interesting to note that Hill HAS been rumored for the longest time to be a part of the new Ghostbusters team. Furthermore, we know that a part of the new Busting team will have a female, and Kristen Bell definitely seems like a great potential casting choice. However, nothing is confirmed, and this could simply be the two playing around with the internet.

It’s a coincidence, but a very interesting one at that. Obviously, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis are hard at work on the script behind closed doors, and they could very much have finished a script that has pleased Bill Murray. Murray’s involvement is definitely an important one, as he’s one of the rights holders for the franchise, and without him, there will be noGhostbusters 3. However, the fact they’re in condition to begin casting seems very unlikely, and hopeful at best.

But, what do you think? Are Hill and Bell part of a quiet casting development for the sequel, or is it them just playing around, and the film still is development hell?
