All You Need to Know About “Gemelle”. Plus: The Date It Will Air on Italian TV

If you are an Erica Durance fan you have probably heard about “Gemelle” countless times by now. But do you really know what it is about? Check out the synopsis below along with pictures and the date it will air on Italian TV.

Produced by RTI and Leader Film Company, Erica Durance’s film “Gemelle” (Twins) is part of a project called “6 passi nel giallo” which is a series of six films, each 100 minutes in length, directed by three different directors whose parents and grandparents were well known directors of horror films in the 70s in Italy. They are Lamberto and Roy Bava (son and grandson of Mario Bava, respectively) and Edoardo Margheriti (son of Anthony Margheriti).

Directed by Roy Bava and starring Daniele Pecci, Erica Durance, Thomas Arana and Veronica Lazar, “Gemelle” is an Italian-American production filmed in Malta and Italy. It first premiered at the “Roma Fiction Fest” on September 27th 2011. The cast and crew attended the screening, but due to a scheduling conflict Erica Durance was unable to attend the event.

In issue #13 of Durance Magazine we asked Erica her thoughts on her parts in Gemelle. She responded:

“It’s an Italian thriller called “Gemelle” or “Twins” where I play twin sisters, in which one sister is a drug addict and dare I say… a killer! (laugh) A much darker more somber role than Lois but the challenge of playing two parts, working with an Italian crew is exciting. I’m excited about some future prospects on my return home, but for now, I’m having an amazing opportunity working in Malta, visiting Rome, Venice, adding another adventure to my life resume.”

Excited? Check out the synopsis below:

“Gemelle” Synopsis

Christine (Erica Durance, Lois in “Smallville”) is raped by three boys. A few days later, her twin sister Angela (also played by Erica Durance), asks the police help to find her. This sends Valerio (Daniele Pecci), who had an affair with Christine years earlier, into action. The Commissioner finds out that the two sisters didn’t have a feud due to Christine’s problems with drugs, but because she had an affair with Angela’s husband.
