It’s been a good couple of years or so since Nitro Circus was cancelled by MTV. And it wasn’t too long ago that Travis Pastrana, the ringleader of the Circus, said that they wouldn’t be making a third season, but a 3D movie instead. Now, the first official trailer for the upcoming film was released, featuring all-new footage from the 3D stunts. What’s it like? See for yourself:
Now, in the trailer, the only people we really get a good look at is Travis, Jolene, and Streetbike Tommy, but rest assured that the entire gang is there, including Andy Bell, Jim DeChamp, and more.
No release date has yet been issued to the film, but they are hoping to work it out with their distributor to have the film out in theaters this Summer.
It’ll be interesting to see if MTV want to pick up the wide-distribution, as Red Bull Media House seems to be the distributor at this point, but has never really gone into film before. There’s a chance MTV could show interest thanks to this trailer, and end up helping the film release, market, and more. But, that’s only speculatory, and seems almost like a longshot at this point.
What’s even more interesting to note is whether or not audiences will turn out for the film. Granted, the series was produced by the same people who brought you Jackass, andNitro Circus does share similar traits. But, it’s not as well-known as the other stunt series, and may not have a great showing if it’s mis-marketed by Red Bull.
