It always felt sort of off that the upcoming romantic action comedy This Means War came out after Valentine’s Day. It’s a film that seems to not only have the right stuff for women, but for men as well with badass spy action. Apparently, 20th Century Fox believes the same. That’s why today, they’ve announced they are moving up the release for next month’s sure-to-be hit.
Comingsoon has reported that Fox is moving the film from February 17th to a release three days early on Tuesday, February 14th. ”This audacious strike comes on the heels of outstanding test screenings and strong word of mouth,” said 20th Century Fox.
Bruce Snyder, president of domestic distribution said, “Starting Valentine’s Day, we’re making WAR, not love. We’re armed and ready with the perfect movie. This is a picture that that has it all – humor, charm, wit and action – and it plays through the roof.”
This Means War deals with deadly CIA operatives (Chris Pine and Tom Hardy) who are also partners and best friends. When both begin dating someone, they can hardly wait to tell the other. When they do finally blab, there’s only one problem: it’s the same woman (Reese Witherspoon). From there, it’s a battle of wits, skills, and charm to see which man will be left standing to win the woman.
