The CW Greenlights Medical Dramedy ‘First Cut’

The CW has greenlight some very interesting programs so far. We’ve seen the go-ahead of Arrow, which is the Green Arrow pilot, Cult, Kevin Williamson’s interesting take on a cult of serial killers, The Carrie Diaries, which will serve as a prequel to Sex and the City, and finally the procedural version of Beauty and the Beast. Now, the network is addng one more to the fray with a medical dramedy called First Cut.

TV Guide reports that The CW has greenlight the pilot, which is from Gilmore Girls‘ producer Jennie Snyder Urman, who will also write she’ll be executive producing with Pushing Daisies‘ Dan Jinks.

The series focuses on “a newly minted doctor who is looking forward to leaving her nerdy past behind for a fresh start. Unfortunately, she discovers that life at the hospital where she now works is no different from high school.”

No word yet on who will be cast as the nerdy female lead just yet, but we’ll keep you posted if anything major comes out of development.
