Last week, fans of American Horror Story were shocked to learn that the next season of the series would be completely different with all-new characters, setting, and supernatural subject. While plenty of talk has commenced since, and the fanbase has accepted the anthology take on the show, co-creator Ryan Murphy has now said that there’s still a chance we haven’t seen the last of the Harmon family.
In an interview in this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly, EW asked him to clarify on the Harmons. Murphy said that they won’t be back next season, but, “I think there is a possibility we could revisit that story line in season 3 or 4.”
A similar question followed when they also asked him if Jessica Lange’s character of Constance would return next season. He also confirmed that she would also not be returning, but again says, “I might have a brainstorm in season 4 to do [something with] Constance an her grandson, like, in New York. But as of now, that story is done and put to bed.”
Originally, we suggested in the initial report of the Season 2 news that an anthology is great, but there could still be a great story by revisiting the Harmons every other season. While it sounds like we will get a revisit, it sounds like a lot of things must happen in order for that to be accomplished, such as Murphy and co.’s willingness to do it.
American Horror Story returns Fall 2012, with information on the second season set to hit in the next few months.
What do you think? Should AHS revisit The Harmons and Constance in Season 3 or 4? Will the show even make it that long? Let us know in the comments!
