We’re less than a week away from One Tree Hill kicking off the beginning of the end as the series preps to head off into the Wild Blue Yonder. With only thirteen episodes, the spot showcases plenty of drama to come when it focuses on Nathan’s storyline, but also showcases new footage of Chad Michael Murray’s extremely brief return to the series. See all the hardships to come, with a poetic voiceover signaling the end of the series below:
Now, Murray will only be returning as Lucas halfway through the season in episode seven for only a single episode, but it still seems like he could make a good amount of waves for such a small amount of time. It’s said that Haley turns to her long-distance best friend when she needs his help the most, and it could very well have to do with Nathan as the trailer indicates.
Also popping up in the final season of the series will be Paul Johnsson returning as Dan Scott in a series regular role, with old faces Bevin Prince (Bevin) and Antwon Tanner (Skills) showing up for the series finale in April. Hilarie Burton won’t be returning as Peyton, nor will Lee Norris as Mouth, but the rest of the cast remains the same, with Sophia Bush, Bethany Joy Galeotti, James Lafferty, and many more returning in series regular positions.
One Tree Hill premieres its final season next Wednesday at 8PM, airing for thirteen consecutive weeks without interruption. But, be warned long time viewers: this next season will see the series time-jump again, this time five years further into the future.
