CBS Greenlights Nerd Pilot ‘Super Fun Night’ from ‘Bridesmaids’ Co-Star

Rebel Wilson

Our coverage of pilot season continues with CBS, who has basically ordered dramas to accompany its programming already. However, the network is having a big success with its comedy series as well. The biggest problem they’re having is finding a series that is a great partner to The Big Bang Theory. Now, CBS has just greenlit a pilot that sounds pretty much like a perfect fit to everyone’s favorite nerd comedy.

TV Line reports that they’ve ordered a series called Super Fun Night, starring Aussie comedienne and Bridesmaids star Rebel Wilson. Wilson will play one of the three main leads of the series, which seeks to follow “three nerdy female friends on their ‘funcomfortable’ quest to have super fun every Friday night.”

Conan O’Brien is executive producing the series, and Wilson is the one who wrote the pilot of the potential new show.

With the nerdy premise, it does sound like it could be a great female companion to The Big Bang Theory, but it remains to be seen just how well the pilot comes together and if it will be picked up.
