CBS is best known for its countless series of crime and drama. Luckily enough, CBS surely doesn’t think it has enough of that on its line up already. We’ve seen CBS order a few drama pilots so far, including Greg Berlanti’s crime series Golden Boy. Now, the network has greenlit another new pilot…and the plot of the show definitely sounds interesting.
TV Line reports that CBS has ordered a series called Widow Detective, which comes from CSI EP Carol Mendelsohn. The report says it’s basically about a cop who has “the kiss of death”. But, that’s not where it gets unique. The extended plot says the series “revolves around a decorated police officer who, after losing three partners in the line of duty, becomes a surrogate husband, lover and father to their families.”
So, Big Love with crime?
The script is written by David Hubbard, who will executive produce with Mendelsohn. The series is aiming to be an hour long.
We’ll keep you updated as production develops.
