‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Spoiler: Catwoman Scene Description Revealed

After the trailer, the prologue, and more, you’d think 2011 would be done with The Dark Knight Rises until the new year. However, it seems there’s one final bit on information on the film that had to get out…and it’s a juicy one. Somehow, Hero Complex was able to get a scene description from the upcoming film that basically thrusts Catwoman/Selina Kyle into the spotlight. Read it for yourself :

Gotham City is a war zone. A ruthless madman named Bane has ripped away any sense of security and the citizens, haggard and clutching suitcases with refugee anxiety, sit behind barbed wire waiting to see what will blow up next. A hooded prisoner is dragged in – it’s Bruce Wayne, one of Gotham’s most famous faces – but the eyes of the crowd go instead to the woman in black standing at the top of the staircase.

“Sorry to spoil things, boys, but Bane needs these guys himself,” says sultry Selina Kyle, played here by actress Anne Hathaway, navigating the steps with stiletto heels that, on closer inspection, turn out to have serrated edges capable of leaving nasty claw marks in a fight. She also wears high-tech goggles that, when not in use, flip up and resemble feline ears.

This does confirm what’s been widespread about the goggles and the ears: when they’re flipped up, they look like a cat. But, is Selina working for Bane? Or, is she simply masquerading as such in order to save Bruce? That’s the interesting question.

It’s also interesting to note that while The Joker definitely descending the city into a bit of madness, what with a near terrorist-like approach to his cruel games, Bane has descended the city into all-out war, obviously turning Gotham into a state that we have yet to see in a Nolan-Batman film, which sounds quite exciting to see. It’s starting to sound very much that the film is about all three of these vigilante-esque characters and just how they all clash together.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 20th, 2012.
