For years, William Devane played the villainous Gregory Sumner in the soap opera Knot’s Landing. Now, Devane will be tapping back in to his soap roots nearly 30 years later to play a role in ABC’s newest primetime soap drama Revenge.

EW has confirmed that William Devane, perhaps most known recently for playing Secretary James Heller on 24, will be playing Grandpa Edward Grayson on Revenge later this season. He’s the father of Conrad, and will be sticking around for at least two episodes, those being episodes 14 and 15.

But, what does he show up in the Hamptons? To assist Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) in her divorce battle against Conrad! The Graysons’ divorce will begin its long process when the series returns on January 4th, and will continue from there on out.

One of the most interesting tidbits as well is that Grandpa Grayson will be around just in time for the murder-mystery to come to a close. Episode 15 is when a bunch of information on the opening scene shooting will come to light, and viewers will receive plenty of answers that’s been plaguing them all season long.

Revenge airs Wednesday at 10PM only on ABC.
