The Blue Lagoon, and it’s 1991 sequel, is famous for quite a few things. Not only did the series launch the careers of Brooke Shields and Milla Jovovich, but it’s also know for it’s Adam & Eve like tale, at times odd story, and it’s good amount of sexual content. While the series hasn’t been touched in twenty years, it seems the series will get a more family-friendly remake this time around.
Deadline is reporting that Lifetime will be remaking the film, and his officially greenlit the project that has been sitting on a shelf since 2004. No casting has yet gone underway, but you can expect the filming to begin in February in Puerto Rico.
This is the second big remake the cable network plans to remake, as earlier this year it was revealed that they will be remaking Steel Magnolias with an all-black cast as well.
