HBO Cancels ‘Hung’, ‘How to Make it In America’, and ‘Bored to Death’

In what seems to be a merciless sweep of programming, Variety’s Stuart Levine has reported that HBO has cancelled three of their comedy series: Hung, How to Make it In America, and Bored to Death.

It’s said that HBO couldn’t afford to keep the programs on due to the fact that they had to make room for 2012 programming, featuring the debuts of new series LuckNewsroom, and Life’s Too Short, with returns of Game of Thrones, Treme, Boardwalk Empire, Eastbound and Down, and True Blood.

However, not every comedy on the network was cancelled. The new series Enlightened was renewed for a second season by the network. The irony? Enlightened was the least watched program between the four that were on the chopping block.

Hung just completed their third year, along with Bored to Death, and How to Make it In America just completed its second.

Sad about the cancellations? Let us know in the comments below.
