Earlier this week, we reported that Helen Mirren would be joining previously announced guest star NeNe Leakes on the mid-season return of Glee next month. Now, it seems the musical dramedy will be playing host to another big hitter as well:Grease. The first photos for the upcoming episode were revealed today, and it seems that the hit FOX show will definitely be playing homage to the famous musical film when it returns.

It seems the big number the upcoming episode will do is “Summer Days”, chronicling the “summer fling” Sam and Mercedes had this prior to his offscreen departure. Actually, this works surprisingly perfect, fitting the scenario quite well.

We also get a look at a Tina/Mike romantic moment of their own, as the two can be seen having a picnic somewhere. And we also get our first look at the new character of NeNe Leakes, who is portraying a synchronized swimming coach that takes on Coach Sylvester. By the mean look Leakes is giving in the photo, it seems like she could be a worthwhile opponent.

Glee returns on January 17th, with an appropriately titled episode “Grease”, at 8PM on FOX.
