Next ‘Chronicles of Riddick’ To Resume Production After Christmas

Vin Diesel has been very successful in his role as Dom Toretto since he returned to the character in 2009′s Fast & Furious. Now, after eight years, the actor is looking to ressurect another character: Riddick. Filming was underway on a third installment for the series that begin with Pitch Black, but had to be halted due to financial issues, especially unpaid studio bills.

TMZ, though, is now reporting that the bills have been paid, and the film, rumored to be titled Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking, will continue production beginning on December 28th.

For the movie, director David Twohy returns as writer/director, while joining Diesel is a cast that has a confirmed Karl Urban, and rumors of Katee Sackhoff & Dave Bautista.

The synopsis for the film is:

Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

No release date has yet been announced for the film, especially with the delay in filming.
