Ice Cube in Talks for Fourth ‘Friday’

Craig (Ice Cube) and Smokey (Chris Tucker) in 1996's 'Friday'

After three films, and nearly a decade after the last movie, Friday is a series that many have said will have a new film, but nothing has really come to fruition. Now, New Line Cinema is talking with Ice Cube to make that next movie a reality.

It’s being reported that New Line is currently in talks with Cube to write, produce, and star in an all new installment. Word has it that Cube will likely direct as well, but that will be worked out once they have signed him.

But, what will the new film deal with? Well TMZ is reporting that Chris Tucker may be back as Smokey, who we haven’t seen since the first film, but nothing is yet confirmed. Reports say Cube wants him, but whether he’ll return is completely up in the air. It would be a smart way to possibly conclude the franchise, giving fans an ending they’ve always wanted.

Nothing has yet been signed, but stay tuned to Durance Magazine for the absolute latest on what will happen regarding the possible fourth film.
