In 2002, the first sequel in the Men in Black franchise was released, still retaining the core cast of characters, while also introducing a few new ones into the mix. Now, ten years later, the third film will be coming to theaters this coming summer. However, with five months to go, Sony Pictures hasn’t really given up anything on the film yet, but will start their marketing with an all new poster that may just give you a headache.
Filled with the “MIB” logo, the collage seems to come together to unevil Tommy Lee Jones‘ Agent K. See for yourself, and click the image below for a much larger view, with special thanks to Collider for the unveiling:
The third film is set to be a time-travelling tale that has Tommy Lee Jones effectively taking a smaller role as Josh Brolin steps in as the younger version of his character. Will Smith returns as Agent J, who’s gone back to the 1960s in order to stop a world-ending crisis from villains Yaz (Jermaine Clement) and Lilly (Nicole Scherzinger). Other cast members include Rip Torn returning as Zed, Emma Thompson, Alice Eve as a younger version of Thompson, and Johnny Knoxville. The film is directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, who’s directed every film of the series thus far.
With the poster, it means that a trailer may not be too far out of sight. We’ll make sure to keep you posted as soon as that first footage from the film is live, so make sure to stay tuned to Durance Magazine for more!
Men in Black III will hit theaters in 2D and 3D on May 25th, 2012.
