First Photo and Clip of ‘Toy Story’ Short “Small Fry”

When Cars 2 came to theaters, many critics praised the short before it; a Toy Story short called ”Hawaiian Vacation”. It was sharp, funny, heartwarming, and fantastic. Now, the gang is back in their second post-trilogy adventure called “Small Fry”, which will be in front of The Muppets next Wednesday.

The synopsis for the short reads:

Buzz Lightyear is left behind at a fast food restaurant when a kids’ meal toy version of Buzz takes his place. The life-reversal forces the real Buzz, voiced by Tim Allen, to deal with a support group for discarded, unloved fast-food toys. Though Buzz doesn’t fit into the group, he has trouble exiting. While Bonnie’s toys are stuck with the annoying three-inch-tall Buzz impersonator, Woody and the gang devise a way to rescue their friend, and Buzz tries to escape the toy psychotherapy meeting. The short film’s message is simple: Don’t forget those little toys.

Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, Joan Cusack, and John Ratzenberger are all confirmed to return to their roles as Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and Hamm, respectively. Jane Lynch makes her Pixar debut playing Neptuna, a support group leader for discarded Happy Meal toys. Pixar director Teddy Newton will be voicing the “mouthy” Mini-Buzz. The short will have a running time of just around seven minutes.

We have the first photo from the short, and a quick clip from “Small Fry” right below:
